The CASØ Old School chair is a minimalistic and classic dining chair. As the name might suggest, the design is partly inspired by the classic wooden chairs with metal frames that Danes in particular will remember from classrooms around the country.
Old School is designed by Steffensen&Würtz, and they say about the design:
‘A chair where we have worked with the progression of curves - to give the chair its character and dynamics through the course of the legs and the design of the back. A chair where we have worked to give it its character and function equally well from all angles. In addition to comfort and aesthetics, the details in the form of joints between the parts of the chair have been in focus.’
The chair is made of oak, which is treated with oil that enhances the structure of the wood and extends its lifespan. It is kept in stock in two different colours:
- Oak / white oil
- Oak / natural oil
The Old School chair may look simple, but its comfort hasn't been compromised. The back has the perfect height and tilt for optimal support and the soft leather seat makes the chair comfortable to sit on for long periods. The Old School chair is also available with two seat colours:
- Cognac leather
- Black leather
All in all, the Old School chair is a chair that should be seen and tried.

The design duo Thomas Steffensen and Pia Würtz are examined industrial designers and have worked with design and development in Steffensen&Würtz since 2014.
"Our design studio is based by the Aalborg harbor in the old Limfjordsværft. A location that still holds the old shipyard atmosphere.
We employ ourselves in furniture and product design. The outset is in all the things that we surround ourselves with in our everyday lives. We find high value in creating functional designs with a long lifespan. This implies that aesthetics, forms, functions, materials, and ways of production are all well-thought-through to allow a design to become part of the family and the home for years to come and from generation to generation."
